I’ve always written a reaffirmation of my love but this is a final one, a reaffirmation of my love broken.
Crying my face on the sheets, remoistening the stain of ago.
You aren’t capable of loving me, and I…I can’t take it
Destruction
Of which I think, slicing my work
The fragile paper or skin, sweaty palms choking the long sharp steel shaft, its direction and intention unknown.
Now instead the pen into the paper softened by salty tears carving dark scars.
Do I have to cry?
Yet again.
Bludgeoned by bluntness
Open heart surgery
Give back tenderized
No longer exercised by you
To make it tough
Again
